Praying for God’s Kingdom to Come
In Matthew 6:10, Jesus teaches us to pray, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." The kingdom is within our reach. As followers of Jesus, we should live in a way that shows we are part of God's kingdom and practice its principles every day. The Bible describes the Kingdom of God as God's rule over everything, not just a piece of land or a country. When Jesus talked about the kingdom, He meant God's power to bring salvation, healing, and order to the world. Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is both something we can experience now and something we look forward to in the future. Right now, Jesus is showing us God's rule through His actions and through the lives of believers. In John 18:36, Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world." This means His kingdom isn't based on earthly things or governments. Jesus' followers are like travelers in this world, waiting for God's perfect rule to fully come. Because of this, we shouldn't get too caught up in the things of this world that don't truly matter. God's Kingdom is spiritual. God's authority lives in the hearts of people who believe in Him and turn to Him. When someone accepts Jesus and asks for forgiveness, they become part of God's kingdom. This kingdom is characterized by righteousness (doing what is right), peace, and joy through the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). It's not about physical borders, but about God's will being done in people's lives and in the world around us. As believers, our goal is to live according to God's kingdom principles and to help bring His love and peace to everyone around us. Brother Michael R. for Pastor Paul & Sister Claudia
